Note:
It is suggested to use RS485E equipment underrecommended value for long-term stable operation. Equipment will not damagewhen working under limit value, but may result in performance degradation. Donot exceed the limit value, otherwise it may damage the equipment.
Wiring Note:
1. 485 communication wires must be shieldedtwisted pair. It is better to have multi-strand for spare, and the total lengthis not more than 1,200 meters.
2. Wires should be as far as possible awayfrom high-voltage wires, do not parallel with the power cord and cannot bebundled together.
3. 485 bus mustbe hand-handbus structure, and must not be star connection and fork connection.
4. 485 repeater must be used when there ismore than 30 controllers or wire is longer than 500 meters.
5. AC power supply equipment and case mustbe grounded well.
6. Connect GND of all 485 devices withshielded cable.
7. Connect 120 ohm terminal resistor in parallelto 485+(A) and 485-(B) of the last 485 device.
RS-485 bus wire should be 2-core shieldedtwisted pair copper wire, of diameter 0.5 to 0.75 square millimeters, impedance38 to 88 ohms / km, capacity of 30 to 50 nanofarad / km, twist pitch is 20mm(if wire distance is not more than 500 meters, the standard can be appropriatelylower, but must be twisted pair)
Bus Limit:
Consists of two or more devices withphysical connections between each other, the bus can be connected up to 128devices, in the case of no repeater, the bus length is not more than 1200meters. The system bus should not branch, and if branch is unavoidable, thefollowing requirements must be met:
1. Length of branch is not more than 10meters; the sum of bus length in not more than 800 meters; the total quantityof equipment on the branch is not more than 50.
2. All communication signal wires should beas far as possible away from interference source, the signal line should goweak wells, and cannot be in parallel with strong power (such as 220 voltresidential power) or RF signal wire (such as CATV, large signal audio cable).If in parallel, the distance should be longer than 0.5 meters.
3. All wire contacts must be welded orscrewed to the connection, and do waterproof and moisture-proof treatment.
Signal Common Ground:
1. All devices on the same network segmentmust have a uniform signal ground to avoid common mode interference.
2. When using centralized power supply, connectDC negative poles of all power (including the communication device power) ofthe same network segment together directly to form a common signal ground. Atthis time the signal ground is the DC power ground.
3. When using individual power supply, connectthe ground (black wire) pins of all the bus devices on the same network segmenttogether to form a common signal ground.
Indicator Light:
PWR: Green power supply indicator light, normallyon when power on.
COM: Red data indicator light, flashes whenthere is data on bus.
Terminal Definition:
DC9V: power supply
G: Isolate RS-485 ground, can connect toearth or shielded wire
A: RS-485 signal input/output positive
B: RS-485 signal input/output negative
Recommended Debug Methods:
Make sure the wiring is correct.
1, Common ground: use 1 wire or shield wireto connect GND of all 485 devices together, which can avoid potentialdifference that influence communication between all devices.
2, Terminal resistor: connect a 120ohmterminal resistor in parallel to 485+ and 485- of the last 485 device, in orderto improve communication quality.
3, Disconnect middle section: by disconnectingin the middle to check if it is because there are too many loads, orcommunication distance is too long, or some device is damaged that influencethe whole communication wire.
4, Single wire: connect one single wire todevice, which can be used to eliminate if the wiring causes communicationfault.
5, Change convertor: change convertor to eliminateif the convertor quality influences communication quality.
6, Laptop debug: make sure your laptopcommunicates normally, replay client's computer to communicate.
