This volume contains two mid-length plays: The Burden Against the Wilderness of the Sea and The Tiger Caged. In the first, Revelation and the Old Testament Prophets are colliding in New York City, and two recently orphaned siblings are caught up in the chaos when they meet a mysterious stranger, a sinister couple they knew in high school, and a teen runaway. As their choices drive them apart, they discover who can stand on the day of judgment.The second is an autobiographical account of the author's year living in Taiwan after university and the questions of home and purpose that it brought roiling to the surface of his life. As he experiences culture shock both when arriving in Taiwan and returning to Canada, he finds nowhere to lay his head, and must grapple with faith and depression.Both plays are stories of hearing God's voice on the cusp of adulthood and the discomfort of being strangers in this land.
