Designed with the natural dye enthusiast in mind. When I started experimenting with natural dyes, I fell in love with the process and the wonderful colours nature provides. However, I was rather haphazard and never kept a record of my successes or failures. I often found myself struggling to remember which plant made this colour? Had I used a mordant? What temperature..? and so on. This journal is my attempt to resolve my own ineptitude and hopefully help a few others along the way.The journal has sections for keeping a record of each dye experiment including the weight of fibre (WOF), mordant used, modifiers, etc. as well as space to attach a small sample. Other sections of the journal offer space for project notes and monthly notes. The monthly sections are particularly helpful if you are growing or foraging your own dyes. You can keep a record of planting times and harvest times and look back in future years. Even if you are not growing or foraging dyes, this section can be a helpful record of your adventures in dye or monthly planner.
