Джазовые исследования: семнадцать сводов для следующей эпохи

Step beyond the standards. Discover new melodies worth your voice.Jazz Explorations: Seventeen Lead-Sheets for the Next Era brings together seventeen original compositions by David Baumgarten — each a cinematic, lyrical journey where jazz meets poetry. Written by ear and refined with heart, these pieces invite musicians to interpret, not imitate. From the meditative tenderness of Moon Flower to the spiritual defiance of We All Go Down, Baumgarten’s music draws on the lyricism of Jobim, the emotional clarity of Maria Schneider, and the quiet daring of Kenny Wheeler and Pat Metheny. The result is a body of work that feels both timeless and new — melodies that hum in your bones and stay with you long after the last note fades. This collection includes complete lead sheets — melody, lyrics, and chord changes — carefully notated for players and singers seeking fresh material for performance, recording, or improvisation. Each piece carries the space and freedom to make it your own, with wide harmonic landscapes that welcome both subtle phrasing and bold reinvention.“These pages show you my bones...but the breath and blood are yours.”~ David BaumgartenInside you’ll find: Whether you’re a singer exploring new repertoire, a player searching for modern jazz material, or an educator curating songs for interpretation and expression, this book offers an opportunity to play from the soul, not the script.
