Un libro sulla continuità, sulla cura come responsabilità quotidiana,su ciò che resta quando l’ordinario si interrompe___________________________________________________________ The locum – Between shifts is a photographic book about the time that remains. It does not depict hospitals or medical practice, but what happens between one shift and the next: suspended time, silent fatigue, and the continuity of a presence that makes no noise, yet holds. The photographs were taken in Verbania, along Lake Maggiore, during the daily walk between the hospital and the place of rest, before and after night shifts. A repeated route, often solitary, where the landscape accompanies a time that is not empty, but full of experience. The locum is the fourth volume of the photographic series The world within, a project that explores the relationship between gaze, time, and responsibility through places crossed slowly. Here, the landscape becomes an inner space, a measure of pace, a form of listening. None of the images portray patients or contain direct references to medical practice.Photography is understood as presence, attention, and witnessing. A book about continuity, about care as a daily responsibility, about what remains when ordinary life is interrupted.
