Математика и метафизика: чтение Рене Генона

Modern mathematics is more powerful than ever. But does it still know what it is? In Mathematics and Metaphysics, we offer a reading of René Guénon’s thought, revealing a fundamental shift in the nature of mathematical knowledge. Once tied to intelligible principles, mathematics has become increasingly formal, abstract, and self-contained. Through reflections on number, zero, infinity, and the infinitesimal, the book uncovers a deeper philosophical issue: the reduction of knowledge to what can be calculated and symbolically manipulated. The distinction between the Infinite and the indefinite emerges as central, exposing the limits of even the most sophisticated mathematical frameworks. Drawing on key developments from Galileo to Gödel, this work does not reject mathematics but situates it within a hierarchy of knowledge.Mathematics and Metaphysics is an invitation to rediscover the meaning behind mathematical thought.
