Paris, 1970. In the underground bar "La Ronde," a woman who calls herself Gigoletta performs the taxidermy of her own soul night after night. A silent Asian stranger arrives one evening and takes a corner seat. He says nothing. Yet his presence begins to peel away, layer by layer, the armor she has spent years constructing. This trilingual play — written in English, French, and Japanese — traces two years in the lives of Gigoletta and the Man, set against the demolition of Les Halles and the violent reinvention of Paris itself. It explores silence as the deepest form of expression, and absence as the truest form of love. The three versions are not translations of one another. Each inhabits its own voice, its own rhythm — the English precise and anatomical, the French sensory and dense, the Japanese inward and lyrical. Together they form a single portrait: a woman, a man, a violet pressed between the pages of time.
